Sunday, March 18

so i just got done hosting this weekend. This week was a men's group from all over the mid-atlantic region (Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania). there were actually suppossed to be two groups this weekend but one cancelled because of the weather. it went pretty well i guess. the group was really laid back and easy going. so much so that they were arriving all weekend long. i should probably preface that with the fact that there was a decent snow storm and the first few people to arrive said they saw several accidents along the way. they decided that since the other group wasn't going to show that they were going to upgrade their accomadations. and all went smoooothly. i dropped the ball a few times i thought. as a for instance: there were a couple of guys who were here before i had the mill steps shoveled, one of them even busted out a snow shovel from his car. also i didn't interact with them during meals or their free time as much as i could have. but they didn't seem to mind not that i really expected them to i just kind of critical of myself when i'm in the public eye. anyway, the bill is settled, the parking lot is clearing out, the workers are getting ready to go home, and so am i knowing that i got 5 out of 5's across the board on the retreat evaluation.

The Intern Director's Alter Ego

Chad (the Internship Director) has an alter ego that goes by "Uncle Willy". Good Ole Uncle Willy is married to "Ma Dawn", who runs a pretty good BBQ shack in the backwoods of RVR. Here's a pretty good picture of Uncle Willy, who was last seen shootin' off his musket during a RVR Summer Staff Reunion. gmh
