Look out Baltimore, here we come!

A little while ago we took a trip to Baltimore. First we toured the oldest Catholic cathedral in the United States, the Baltimore Basilica, also known as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (now that's a mouthful). We learned a lot about Catholicism from the tour guide, and we got to see all the beautiful architecture and statues. It is quite an amazing and awe-inspiring building.

Next we went to the Washington Monument (there is a different one in Baltimore). We climbed up the seemingly endless spiral staircase inside to get to the top. I got rather claustrophobic in the cramped staircase, but the view from the top was worth it.

We also went to an art museum and checked out artwork from all different time periods and countries.

Sadly, one of us didn't make it. But she is doing much better now :)
